Welcome to your January, 2026 news and updates from the Eastern Sierra Business Resource Center (BRC). We hope you had a wonderful holiday season– If you are hitting the ground this new year refreshed, recharged, and ready to make 2026 the most productive year yet for your business or professional journey, the BRC is here to help!
We’ve got a full slate of free events and workshops coming up in the next few weeks, outlined below, including a customer service seminar that we are excited to bring to the Eastern Sierra for the first time. We’ve worked with the seminar presenters to stage this seminar six times over two days and in three locations to be sure every member of your staff that serves customers– whether internal or external– can do so with confidence and exceed expectations.
We look forward to continuing to serve Eastern Sierra businesses and professionals in 2026– if you have thoughts on trainings you’d like to see, or questions about our services, please reach out to the team at brc@sierrabusiness.org– We’d love to hear from you!
Cheers to an abundant new year,
Meryl Picard
Director

This bi-monthly newsletter is a great way to get a top-level view of all the upcoming events happening at the BRC, however we have gotten requests from community members asking for streamlined event reminders the day before they happen. If you’re the type who prefers to plan your week last-minute, or simply want the extra nudge for events you’ve already planned to attend, we’ve created an Event Reminders list to do just that.

Coming in February to the Eastern Sierra, the BRC is pleased to present a customer service seminar that was voted one of the top two seminars in the world in 2011 – it truly is an award winner!
Facilitated by Eugene J. Wallace of BWI Learning, all employees, regardless of their duties, are invited to attend this engaging and enlightening 90-minute session. The focus is on both internal and external customer service and how to exceed expectations in every interaction. This session is more about “attitude” than “aptitude,” and is powerful in content, motivation, and… Dare we say?… Fun!
To work around your staffing needs and ensure your whole team can attend, we are offering multiple dates/times and locations:
Lunch will be served, so an RSVP is requested. Please click here to RSVP to the session of your choosing.
